Blue Yeti Microphone Not Recognized

‘I am blessed that I am recognized’

Hello, I recently purchased a Blue Yeti Mic. For some reason, windows does not even detect that it is plugged in. I have tried plugging it in to another computer and windows does not detect it either there. However, the mic is clearly working because the light is on. For those who don't know, the yeti is also USB connected to my desktop, not a. About a month ago, I had to unplug my PC to setup a new desk area. I've tested my blue yeti with skype and it shows it is working. My mic is not selected in any other settings on my PC, but for some reason there appears to be no sound (the sound bars aren't moving) picked up for my mic. Blue Yeti microphone has stopped being recognized by my computer after simply switching the cord? Win 8.1 The old cord (was not even the one it came with) got bent so I had to replace it, since plugging in the new one it has become an unknown usb device and is now no longer usable.
