Chapter 36: Bringing it Altogether
Naruto and the others were currently running along the pathway towards a specific direction. Earlier before, they were contemplating on the true instigator of everything that they had gone through when they heard a loud explosion before picking up a strong surge of energy at the topmost part of the flagship.
'What do you think is going on?' asked Lilac.
'I don't know but I get the feeling that it's probably something big for us to worry about,' Naruto replied as they continued to run.
'Naruto, there's are people ahead of us,' Nicole pointed out to them,
They looked to see and were surprised upon recognized a majority of them, they saw Sonic along with Tails and Knuckles, Shadow accompanied by Rouge and Omega, Amy who is being followed by Cream and Cheese who have another Chao following them with a large purple Mobian cat and a frog sitting on his head. Sonic turned their way and was mildly surprised upon seeing them approach.
'Fancy meeting you here Naruto,' said Sonic.
'Right back you, what brings you all here?' asked Naruto curiously.
'Eggman tossed a challenge our way and we wounded up chasing him all the way here, what about you?'
'Eggman's robots attacked a village which we helped defend and pursued him up to this point like you guys. But we suspect that Eggman wasn't the cause of it but rather someone else,' said Lilac.
'Who?' asked Tails.
'I believe that guy up there has the answers to all of our questions,' said Shadow before pointing upwards.
Everyone looked upwards to see someone standing atop a tall tower with flashes of lighting from the thunderstorm helping them to see more clearly to identify it as a robot which bears striking resemblance much to Naruto's surprise. It possesses black eyes with red irises, a torso with a rocket engine inbuilt, and the primary blue color with red shoes, but he has a number of differences too. His head has five long quills as opposed to his regular three, with white stripes and markings around his eyes, similar to that of Shadow's. He also possesses body armor with black and curved shoulder plates, large gauntlets and leg armor with pointy knee caps that have white outlines, a plate covering his pelvis and elf-like shoes. He also sports a spiky belt with a black cape that protrudes out of the back of his waist.
'Hmmhmmhmmm…,' the robot looked down at them with his eyes glowing 'All living things kneel before your master!' then he fired an electrifying plume of light from his palm into the darken sky only for it to come crashing back down and blowing up the tower. Naruto mildly noticed Vector and the others showing before turning his attention back to what is occurring before them.
In a vortex of bright light and smoke, the robot began attaching the parts of the destroyed tower and began undergoing a transformation into something else. His new appearance is that of a large, blue heavily-armed mechanical dragon with two eyes lined up vertically on his head. He has several long spikes on his upper body and many smaller ones running down his back and his long, curved tail. He has a flamethrower as his right hand, and his left hand has four fingers with claws. He has no legs in this form, instead his lower body is attached to the remains of the tower with several thick cables.
'RAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!' the robot let out a quaking roar.
'This bodes ill,' said Espio.
'Understatement of the year,' Kurama mumbled.
'Metal Sonic has finally transformed!' said Eggman with no small amount of fear, they took notice of the many Egg Pawns running away from the transformed Metal Sonic.
'Metal Sonic, you mean the one you personally created to defeat Sonic?' asked Naruto, recalling Sonic and the others telling him about it sometime ago.
'That's the one, looks like he underwent a makeover…twice,' said Sonic in affirmation.
'It's useless! Metal Sonic has combined your data with the power of Chaos and is super strong! We can defeat it,' said Eggman.
'Speak for yourself,' Kurama quirked an eyebrow at that.
Eggman groaned in frustration 'Aaaa…if only we had the 7 Chaos Emeralds!'
Cream reached into her pocket to present the yellow Chaos Emerald with the others following suit, Big the cat has the purple one, Rouge has the white one, Shadow has the green one, Sonic has the blue one, Charmy has the cyan one, and Naruto held out the last red one.
Eggman was stunned at the fact and sight of all SEVEN Chaos Emeralds being in place as of now 'What's this! But how?' he snapped back into focus 'Even with the Emeralds' power, our chances of victory are slim, it would take a miracle!'
Sonic tossed his Chaos Emerald into the air before catching it with a smirk on his face 'Just leave that to me, doc…,'
'Sonic, no!' Amy called out in protest, she may had witnessed his battle against Perfect Chaos back at Station Square but she couldn't help but worry for him.
'I'm going with you too!' Tails spoke up.
'…Tails,' Sonic was surprised to hear that, he always knew that Tails is supportive of him but he never thought that it would be this much.
'You can count me in too,' said Knuckles.
'Knuckles…,'
'They aren't the only ones, we want a piece of the action too,' Sonic turned to see Naruto stand with his arms crossed and of foxy grin, Lilac gave them a thumbs up and Nicole simply smiled before nodding in agreement.
'Ok guys, we'll buy you some time. That way you can use your super powers,' said Shadow, Rouge and Omega were in agreement, a sentiment shared by the other teams.
Tails and Knuckles stood by Sonic's side while Naruto and his teammates stood next to him, then the hedgehog turns in a circle to address all his comrades at once 'Okay then, let's get ready to do this. We'll show that creep the REAL super power of TEAMWORK!'
'Don't we know it!' said Naruto with a smirk.
The three teams charged towards Metal Sonic who is now known as Metal Madness and had soon taking their positions atop tall platforms surrounding the maniacal robot hell-bent on world domination to face him.

'You're the one pretending to be Sonic! You're the one responsible for taking Froggy and Chocola!' said Amy angrily.
Cream was visibly upset 'I can't believe you would do such a thing!'
'You're going to pay for this!' said Big with a small frown.
'I'll tear you to pieces!' said Metal Madness with a loud roar to intimidate them.
Amy looked at the giant robot for a weakpoint before noticing something and pointed it to the others 'Hey, that glowing spot at the base of the tail looks suspicious, let's aim for that!'
Metal Madness approached the team and then swung his spiky tail across the platform towards them, but they quickly switched to Flight formation as Cream surprisingly was capable of carrying Amy and Big into the air to avoid the tail then she used Thunder Shoot to launch her teammates as electric cannonballs towards the core multiple times to inflict damage, this seemed to have annoyed Metal Madness as he launched the spines from his back as missiles which headed for the others which they managed to avoid though the spines sprouted into indestructible sharp spike formations upon hitting the platform, limiting their movement until the spikes shattered by themselves.
'My turn,' Big spoke up as Amy and Cream jumped to sit on his shoulders in Power formation, Metal Madness swung his tail their way again with the giant cat to jump over it then use his umbrella to glide safely back to the ground. Amy jumped off the shoulder and went into a spinball form as Big swung his umbrella like a baseball bat to launch her towards the core with Cream following suit with both bouncing back to him upon impact for him to repeat the action consecutively.
'Burn to death!' Metal Madness growled before directing his claw to produce a long stream of flames in a sweeping motion across the platform, the team quickly switched to Flight formation for Cream to lift the others into the air to evade the flames before retaliating with Thunder Shoot towards the core until the flame attack stopped for them to land back on the platform, then Amy called out to the rest.
'Okay! Time to use our super move, the Flower Festival!' said Amy.
'I'm ready!' said Cream with Cheese chirping in agreement.
'Okey dokey,' said Big.
Then Big began bouncing Amy and Cream on the surface of his umbrella, the girls hopped up to form a tower with Big, with Cream performing a one-handed handstand on Amy's who was balancing on one foot on the top of the umbrella and Big holding it up as high as he could then Cheese began showering flowers and petals all around. Despite the odd action, it seemed to have affected Metal Madness in a way.
'We're done over here, you guys ready?' Amy called out to the next team.
'It's too late…,' Metal Madness retorted.
On the next platform is Team Chaotix who stood at the ready when Metal Madness turned its attention towards them and got ready to attack.
'The transformation isn't quite complete yet,' said Espio observingly.
'Incomplete freak!' Charmy taunted mischievously.
'Now's the time to strike!' said Vector before engaging the target.
'You're all useless now that I've copied all your data!' said the giant robot. Metal Madness launched his spines at the team for them to quickly move out of the way and keep away from the spiky formations which sprouted afterwards 'Get away!' he began launching his claws like missiles towards the team whilst regenerating to launch more , Espio took the lead in Speed formation and helped his teammates maneuver away from the incoming attacks before switching to Flight formation for Charmy to carry them away from an incoming tail swipe then retaliating by attacking the glowing core at the base of the robot's tail with Thunder Shoot.
'Here we go!' Vector took the lead in Power formation as Charmy and Espio went into their spinball forms before being held in between his jaws, then Vector launched his teammates from his mouth at them in the form of fireballs to strike at the core. The team quickly leapt into the air to avoid another tail swipe with Vector blowing a large bubblegum to glide back to the platform before resuming the attacking. Metal Madness retaliated by launching a barrage of spines for Charmy to carry them out of the way in Flight formation before attacking with Thunder Shoot to damage the robot further.
'Alright boys, let's hit with all we've got with our Chaotix Recital!' said Vector.
'Okay!' said Charmy excitedly.
'Roger,' Espio responded in affirmation.
Charmy and Espio brought out a bass drum and shamisen respectively where they began playing completely out of tune, then Vector soon joined in as he sang into a microphone very loudly, resulting in Metal Madness being assaulted by the discorded sound waves and made him reel back in visible pain.
'We're almost done here, now it's up to you!' Vector called out to the last team.
'This victory shall soon turn into despair!' said Metal Madness.
The last but one platform where Team Dark were currently positioned nodded in affirmation of the others and got ready as Metal Madness turned towards them next and growled loudly at them.
'So you're the one behind all this, huh?' said Shadow with a frown.
'Consuming the powers of others at your own free will…and that's supposed to make you tough?' said Rouge with a look of skepticism.
'New target acquisition! Sights locked on Metal Sonic!' said Omega.
Metal Madness roared out as he launched multiple claw missiles in an attempt to capture them but Shadow led them out of the trajectory of the incoming projectiles while in Speed formation and again when another barrage of spines where launched at them before Rouge took the lead in Flight formation to carry them out of the way of incoming flames 'Even the Ultimate Life form can't stop me!'
'We'll just see about that!' Rouge attacked the glowing core with Thunder Shoot constantly to damage it with the robot roaring out in anger as it swung its tail in their direction but missed thanks to Rouge carrying them to safety 'Omega, it's your turn now!'
'Affirmative, initiating annihilation mode!' Omega transformed into twin Gatling guns and opened fire upon the core rapidly switched to flamethrowers then into rocket launchers for a relentless assault. Metal Madness launched a barrage of spines again but Omega fired at the incoming projectiles to destroy them before they could get any closer, Omega had Shadow and Rouge held in his wrist sockets and jumped into the air to evade a flame attack from Metal Madness then launched the duo with enough to turn them into fireballs to strike the core strongly. Metal Madness roared in outrage and leered at the team.
'It's time for us to use our strongest move, time for Chaos Inferno!' said Shadow, looking at his palm to see a kanji for chaos which is a seal containing stored Chaos energy courtesy of Naruto from earlier.
'Ready when you are!' said Rouge.
'Preparations complete,' said Omega.
'Chaos Control!' Shadow activated the seal to release the stored Chaos energy to utilize his technique right as Rouge landed atop Omega and lifted him into as the robot reconfigures his arms into laser cannons and fires giant purple laser beams from each of them while rotating his torso counter-clockwise.
'Sonic, Naruto, we're counting on you!' Shadow called out.
'How appropriate to have a robot overlord rule a robot kingdom!' Metal Madness proclaimed arrogantly.

Metal Madness roared in annoyance at having been constantly attacked by the three teams and finally had enough of it as he triggered his final transformation. The fingers of his lower body suddenly burst off and are replaced by long slender blades which resemble that of wings…he is now Metal Overlord! The robot detached himself from the demolished tower with a single flap of his new wings, leaving several cables hanging from the bottom of his body before ascending into the darkened sky.
Down below, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles nodded in a silent agreement and put their hands together as the Chaos Emeralds whirl rapidly around their heads and picking up speed. Sonic crossed his arms with his eyes closed in concentration then broke them apart with the Chaos Emeralds fusing with him as he transformed in Super Sonic! Tails and Knuckles felt a bit overwhelmed by the surging Chaos Energy but found themselves encased in pulsating golden energy shields as they floated up next to him.
Nearby, Naruto, Lilac and Nicole saw their transformation then looked at each other and nodded in agreement that it's their turn now. Naruto closed his eyes in concentration as he fused his chakra with Kurama's and the golden chakra burst out before enveloping his body and emanating like that of flickering flames, starting with the two front spikes of his hair pointing upwards to resemble horns, the whisker-like markings on his face become thicker, and the chakra shroud's shape alters to resemble a full-length haori with six black magatama markings around the collar with his nine tails sticking out from underneath, and various other archaic lines extending along his body as he is now in his Kurama Mode! Naruto held his hands out to Nicole and Lilac for them to touch before channeling his chakra into them, enshrouding them in a vermillion red aura shaped like that of a one-tailed fox with long ears as they all hovered in the air next to Team Sonic.
'Let's do this!' said Super Sonic, taking off with the others.
'Right behind ya!' Naruto and his teammates were quick to follow after them in pursuit of Metal Overlord for the final battle.

The two teams finally caught up with their target who turned around to face them with a leer 'Long time no see, Sonic, my loathsome copy!'
'Too bad it's not long enough, I'm gonna put a stop to you like I always do and this time with some help!' said Sonic with a frown.
'Nothing you will do can defeat me, I shall soon take your place as the original!'
'I suggest you say that after defeating us,' said Naruto.
'Take this!' Metal Overlord fired a rapid barrage of crystal pillars towards the two teams, Super Sonic quickly used his Homing Attack to smash through the crystal pillars in Speed formation while Lilac performed an empowered Dragon Boost as she charged up her energy then launched herself forward like a comet to move a high-speed to slam hard into Metal Overlord but simply bounced off upon contact 'Ha! Your miniscule power is now match for me!'
'Looks like our normal attacks won't have an effect on this guy,' said Naruto with a frown at this.
'Then we'll just have to use much stronger attacks to really make him feel it,' said Sonic determinedly.
Everyone snapped back to attention when Metal Overlord fired another barrage of crystal pillars towards and this time launched a salvo of spikes in addition, Lilac used her Dragon Swoop to smash through the crystals in Speed Formation while Tails took the lead in Flight Formation to use Thunder Shoot to destroy the incoming spikes. The dual teams kept defending against the incoming attacks until the barrage ended for the moment.
'Sonic…I was created for the sole purpose of destroying you. But I could never seem to defeat you! That's why I transformed my own body with my own hands.' Said Metal Overlord.
'As much as I want to admire your diligence, we can't allow you to do whatever you like. We're going to stop you right here and now!' Naruto proclaimed.
'That's right, and we're going to show you what for! Let's do this guys!' said Sonic.
'Okay!' said Tails.
'We're with you until the end!' said Knuckles.
The trio rose into the air and began charging up their powers to the max then they launched themselves towards Metal Overlord in their spinball forms to unleash a barrage of exceedingly powerful semi-Homing Attacks in multiple places of their target despite the robot's frail attempts to shake them off before they finally backed away to recharge themselves.
'Not bad you guys, time for us to show you the debut of our new Team Blast! You girls ready?' asked Naruto with a smirk.
'Ready to go!' said Lilac.
'I'm all set!' Nicole was in affirmation
'Okay, time for the Tri-Fusion Rasengan!' Naruto created a Rasengan in each hand as Nicole and Lilac hovered to each one and proceeded to infuse each of them with the electric and water energy respectively then he charged forward as he attacked Metal Overlord in a high-speed blitz before backing away a short distance where he fuses both Rasengan into one while adding his wind chakra into it before charging in once more to slammed the jutsu into the opponent to knock him back a great distance.
'Nice one!' Sonic turned towards Metal Overlord 'Hmph, you actually thought you could defeat me and my friends by transforming into a monster?'

'But that was the past. Now you're nothing but a speck of dust to me,' said Metal Overlord.
'Given how we're laying it on you, you'll have to forgive over skepticism,' said Naruto while rolling his eyes.
Metal Overlord suddenly dove into the cloudbank for a few moments before rising back up with two Mako gunships held in his claws 'I'll crush you all!' he threw the gunships one after another in their direction, Knuckles took the lead in Power Formation as he had Sonic and Tails on his fists like boxing gloves before punching through one of the gunships, Naruto threw in his support while holding Nicole and Lilac in spinball forms on his tails in Power Formation as he used the Tailed Flail to smash through the second gunship before they charged towards Metal Overlord for an attack.
'Chaos Control!' Metal Overlord called out before disappearing before them much to their surprise, Naruto sensed something heading towards them from behind and quickly moved to defend by moving in position and forming Kurama's head to take the hits which happened to be spikes being fired by Metal Overlord. Team Sonic quickly helped out with Tails using Thunder Shoot to take out the other incoming spikes.
'Thanks for the save, Naruto! Time for some payback!' Super Sonic and the others performed their Team Blast once more to push Metal Overlord who roared in outrage at the two teams.
'Man, he's tough!' said Knuckles with a frown.
'Is he invincible?' asked Tails worriedly.
'It's not over yet! Let's show him what we're made of!' said Super Sonic with unwavering determination.
'You got that right, this is far from over!' said Lilac.
'Our attacks are definitely doing damage to him, just keep up with the assault,' said Nicole.
'See me as I am, no longer afraid of anything! I shall become the ultimate overlord, ruling as the world's most supreme being!' said Metal Overlord arrogantly.
'Oh yeah, well rule this…Tri-Fusion Rasengan!' Naruto assault the crazed robot with the Team Blast and sent him flying away from them 'You have no idea how many jerks my friends and I had met with goals similar to yours that we had to take down, and you buddy are soon joining the long list!'
'And a long list it is,' said Kurama with a smirk.
You shall pay for you insolence!' Metal Overlord launched a barrage of crystal pillars and spikes at the teams but they were quick to defend once more as Super Sonic used his Homing Attacks to shatter the crystal pillars in Speed Formation and Nicole took out the spikes with Thunder Shoot in Flight Formation. The robot refused to give in as he went to pick up two more gunships to throw at them but they were quickly destroyed by both Naruto and Knuckles in Power Formation.
'Alright guys, time to wrap this up!' said Sonic, getting nods of agreement from the others. He and the others rose into the air and began charging up their powers to the max then they launched themselves towards Metal Overlord in their spinball forms to unleash a barrage of exceedingly powerful semi-Homing Attacks in multiple places of their target despite the robot's frail attempts to shake them off before they finally backed away for the others to take point.
'This is the end!' Naruto created the Rasengan in each hand for Nicole and Lilac to infuse their energies into them once more then he charged forward as he attacked Metal Overlord in a high-speed blitz before backing away a short distance where he fuses both Rasengan into one while adding his wind chakra into it before charging in once more to slammed the jutsu into the opponent to trigger an explosion of energy.
Metal Overlord was unable to take in anymore damage and was soon plummeting through the cloudbank in defeat 'Guooooo! Why?! I had it all! I am the ultimate overlord, Metal Sonic! I am the real Sonic!'

'One cannot gain true power alone even if you copy that of others, true power comes from fighting together as one!' Naruto responded.
'We did it!' said Tails happily.
'Phew, that was tough,' said Knuckles with a smirk.
'Too bad it's all over…for you!' said Super Sonic.

The two teams flew back to the flagship and reverted to their normal forms while the Chaos Emeralds appeared before flying away in different directions to the unknown, Naruto mentally noted to seek out one of them in the future so as to examine it some more with some help from Knuckles or Tikal. They approached Metal Sonic who was shrinking down in size and reverting back to his default form as he crouched on all fours and was struggling to get up.
Metal Sonic looked up at them in confusion 'It's no use…but why can't I defeat you?'
Sonic smirked in response 'Heh, because…we're Sonic Heroes!' Naruto smiled amusedly while Lilac and Nicole giggled.
'Sonic!' they turned around to see the other teams especially Amy approach them.
Metal Overlord Vs Perfect Chaos 2
Sonic walked by Metal Sonic 'Anytime you want a rematch, just let me know. I'll be waiting,' then he zipped off with the robot finally deactivating.
'Hey Sonic, wait up!' Tails ran after the blue hedgehog with Am in tow.
'Sorry to leave like this, but I can't let my Sonic get away!' Amy called out to her friends
'Good luck, Amy!' said Cream with Cheese and his friend Chocola chirping in agreement
'Bye bye!' Big waved goodbye with Froggy sitting atop his head.
Knuckles chuckled in amusement 'Sonic sure has his hands full,'
Rouge strutted by him 'I guess I'm outta here too, I think I'll go hunt for someone else's treasure…and get some information about another someone,' she winked at Naruto causing Lilac and Nicole to glare at her while Kurama snickered.
'She never gives up, does she?' Knuckles dashes after the female bat who began running as well 'Oh no you don't, wait!'
'Guess that's it for this case,' said Vector.
'Guess so…plus I'll need to go somewhere to do something now that we're done here,' said Espio.
'But what about our money?' asked Charmy.
'Oh man, I almost forgot…' Vector had a look of realization, they heard a whistle and turned to see Naruto waving at them.
'If you're looking for a certain rotten egg…then he's over there,' Naruto pointed towards said person who was attempting to tiptoe away from them while no one was looking.
'That slimeball!' Vector growled in anger as he and the others after Eggman who had seen them and started running as well in fear of getting beaten up again while Omega held Metal Sonic in his arms and Shadow stood next to him and they looked at each other in confusion.
'Wow, what an adventure we've just had. Reminds me of the big missions I took on back home,' said Naruto crossing his arms behind his head while kicking the ground lightly.
'You're definitely right about that, and to think that all this started when we responded to an SOS call,' said Lilac.
'Indeed, but in the end we were able to accomplish what we were targeting despite the unknown factors,' said Nicole.
'Come to think of it, we never got to eat the Chili Dogs which Chuck-jisan had cooked up for us and I'm feeling kinda hungry now,' Naruto's stomach growled in agreement to his statement and soon Lilac's joined in too, causing her to blush while Nicole giggled at both of them.

'Then what say we pass by Uncle Chuck's restaurant before returning home to Carol, Milla and the Chao?'
'I couldn't agree with you more, let's go!' Naruto took off at high-speed.
'Hey, wait for us Naruto!' Lilac ran after him with Nicole using her Digital Wings to keep up with them.
Naruto and co reached the edge of the flagship and jumped off to dive towards the ground below as they veered from side to side to avoid collision with the self-destructing battleships, Naruto called on Dragoon for them to ride on while Nicole sat on his hair in faerie form before flying off to their next destination for some R&R before revisiting Knothole Village.
Elsewhere, Sonic and his team were currently running along the grassy pathway of Seaside Hill with a look of excitement on the Blue Blur's face as he ran. Carnatic shruti box mp3 free download.

Somewhere else in a dark chamber, the black silhouette from Lost Jungle was currently kneeling down on one knee before the foot of a staircase leading up to a throne where someone is seen sitting on it but the face cannot be seen.
'My mistress, I bring you news from my patrol,' said the black silhouette.
'What is it?' asked the one sitting on the throne in a feminine voice in an uninterested manner.
'I was patrolling the swamps by your orders when I came across a small group engaging another in battle and one of them happens to be a fox with nine tails.
The female suddenly sat up on her throne 'What did you say? A fox with nine tails? Did he possess a symbol on his clothing?'
'Yes my mistress, it is that of a red fox howling on the back of his vest,'
'Can it be, they were supposed to have disappeared many years ago…it shouldn't be possible for them to return,' then the female spoke out loud 'Send word to the scouts to keep an eye out for this fox and relay any information back to me, no doubt the other houses will be aware of his presence,'
'Yes mistress!' the black silhouette immediately left the chamber.
'If he really is a member of the Yakan clan, then I'll make sure to wipe them out before they can set up a solid foundation. As the Bride of the Raiju Clan, the Yakan will be defeated!'
